I live in California and stay in the car when going through the desert. Where did you take that picture of the snake? Do you know what kind of snake that was?
I have no idea what kind of snake it was;)It wasn't rattle snake for sure (no specific sound-which I heard before). Picture was taken on road between Zion NP and Escalante. If You are looking to take picture of rattle snake probably the closest place for You will be Death Valley - I meet there some:D I will post them when I will find pictures.
